Renntag Racing spends the day at a WKA race at Sandyhook Speedway.
Renntag Racing is looking to the karting realm of motorsport for another avenue of education and road racing. Just shy of 2 hours from Washington DC is a small road course catering to Go-Karts of all sizes. Ages of the participants ranged from 5 to over 50. The most highly contested classes were in the 8-15 year old range where the competition was fierce. Many position changes and close battles made for exciting racing.
Colin was invited to officiate and got a track side view of the action working as a flagger. "In the larger classes there were karts everywhere! Surprisingly there were only a few spinouts in my section making for just a little less excitement. Waving a flag while helping push a cart really gets the adrenaline flowing." The people at Sandyhook put on a great show.
Come check out the karting on Summit Point's new Washinton Circuit. There will be a WKA regional race in August and hopefully we will see a National Level event in the near future.
